Sara Ramirez

Sara Ramirez was born in Mexico. She is an American Mexican actress. She also sings. She was raised by her mom throughout the USA she faced numerous racial insults that made her feel being unwelcome. After she participated in an event at school and was given great praise for her performance, in ninth grade the young girl started to grow more confident. It not only boosted the confidence of her, but also changed the direction in which she went on to pursue her career. When she was 22, she was able to graduate from the Julliard School of New York. When she was 23, she began her career making her debut on Broadway in Paul Simon's The Capeman and in films with You've Got Mail. The part in The Lad of The Lake became her greatest break, earning an award for her performance, an award called the Tony Award in addition to praise from critics for her role. The recognition grew even more by appearing on Grey's Anatomy on ABC as Dr. Callie Torres. An accomplished singer and producer, she's produced a single as well as an extended piece. She also works as a LGBT activist.
