Anna Leigh Ashford
Annaleigh Amanda Ashford is an American actor, singer, and dancer. Her initial roles on Broadway included in productions Wicked Legally Blonde and Hair. The Tony Award was given to Ashford for her performance as Essie Carmichael, in You Can't Take It With You. Annaleigh Ashford, Tony Award winner actor has worked with many well-known directors and actors for stage productions and on television. The award-winning actress continues her career through her forthcoming projects. Ashford can be seen next in the role of Kumail Nanjiani, in Robert Siegel's Hulu exclusive Welcome to Chippendales. It debuts on the 22nd November. Ashford is currently in the making of Searchlight Pictures' terror thriller Dust with Sarah Paulson. The film is scheduled to stream on Disney's DTC platforms, as well as Hulu Original. Ashford returns to Broadway in March 2023, with the role of Josh Groban opposite Stephen Sondheim's Sweeney Todd. The production is in the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre. Thomas Kail, director and producer of Hamilton will direct the production. Ashford's last role was as Paula Jones on Ryan Murphy FX's American Crime Story Impeachment. The series is based on a national scandal which involved Paula Jones Monica Lewinsky, and Linda Tripp. She was the star of two seasons on CBS comedy B Positive. It was developed by Marco Pennette, Chuck Lorre and Linda Lavin. Also, it had Ben Vereen and Elizondo. Other Broadway roles for Ashford includes Sunday in the Park, as George Wicked legally Blonde, and her role as Lauren in Kinky Boots. For this role, she earned the Tony Award nomination. Ashford is an Denver resident who splits her time in Los Angeles.
